Haven’t had a great day so I decided to start checking prices on cars and browse around. I ended up finding !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! . How bad of an idea is buying a 12 year old Evo with 108k miles on it? Are Evo’s generally in this price range (15k max)?

A quick look at the high mileage threads from a few EVO forums says it’s not a bad idea. Looks like most people have had to replace the clutch between 50 and 100k, but that’s it.

I have almost no experience/knowledge about EVO’s though. I rode in an Evo 8 one time, it was cool, and I always support fast car purchases!

Why not tho? I think that fairly original Evos are gonna be expensive in a couple of years. Think of it like the e30 m3.

Funnily enough I was looking at this same exact Evo 2 months ago, there are a few at that place. I looked up the dealer though and I didn’t necessarily like what I saw and didn’t think it was worth the travel time for a possible bust. If it is close enough to you take a look though, I am interested if they actually have good stock there.

Yeah they have a bunch of evos and m3s and stuff, a common theme I saw on reviews was the cars mysteriously not being present at the time they showed up and then being persuaded to look at other cars. That led me to have serious doubts. I am not going to look at another car when I traveled all the way to see the exact one that was in their inventory.

My friend just bought an 03 evo 8 for 12k with 88k on it. Full rebuild TRE tranny and newer head stuff. Great condition and its a blast
